Flexibility to adapt in a variety of situations.Must have the capacity to take initiative when problems arise.Ability to adapt to the ever changing high volume retail while working in a cross-functional team environment.Must maintain the highest level of customer service at all times.Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus.Preferred 1 -2 years grocery retail experience in Front End department processes and procedures.High school diploma or equivalency degree.Maintains clean and orderly checkout areas and make sure no personnel items are in the area.Greets customers entering store and responds promptly to customer needs.Operates cash register by passing price coded items across electronic scanner to record price, enter in PLU or UPC manually, compile printed list, and display cost of customer purchase, tax, and rebates on monitor screen.Issues receipts, refunds, credits, rain checks or change due to customers.Receives payment by cash, check, credit cards, gift cards, or automatic debits.Computes bill, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due.Walks the store prior to each shift to ensure awareness of promotional and sale items do produce walk and weekly testing.This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Front End Department. They are required to assist customers as needed and maintain a friendly, energetic demeanor. Must maintain proper control of cash, ensure customer satisfaction, and safeguard company assets.
